I was burdened about this bill last night and early this morning after hearing that the 60 votes had been obtained. I have also been burdened as I have thought about Jonah. Jonah was called to speak out against the wickedness of Nineveh, but Jonah disobeyed God because of lack of love for the Ninevites. He wanted to see them perish (Jonah 3:10 – 4:2). I am becoming convicted that when I stay silent I am running from my own Nineveh.
I decided to trust God and hold onto His promise. I thanked God for taking me through a painful time, even though I didn’t know how it could turn out good.
What are some of the lies Christians believe? I was surprised how many I believed about God and myself. No wonder I couldn’t fully give my all to God.

Last night as I was praying with my older daughter and putting her to bed, she was going through her list of people she wanted me to pray for. She decided to add a few new people to the list, and I started thinking how this is like our relationship with Jesus. Here was my daughter just telling me who she wanted to pray for, and I was the one who flushed this out in prayer. Now this is not a perfect analogy, but Jesus lives always to intercede for us.
