God Wants Us to Be Involved With Him
Christmas is the time of year we remember the birth of Jesus – Emmanuel, God with us. Jesus is the wonderful sign that God wants to have relationship with us. God extends an offer for an intimate connection, paved by the birth, life, death, and resurrection of Jesus—a revelation of the heart of God.
Consider the extraordinary desire: Creator God yearns to call His creation His children, sharing in their joys and sorrows. He invites us to rule with Him in heaven, actively participating in our lives and honoring the impact of our choices. Through the Holy Spirit, He empowers us to become everything He designed us to be. Jesus, our pathway to abundant life (John 10:10).
Yet, many limit their approach to God, settling for guilt removal or a ticket to heaven. God’s call goes beyond; He invites us to be actively involved with Him.
Mary Shows How to Respond to God
Mary is seemingly minding her own business when an angel tells her that she will give birth to God. She will not have had relations with any man, but she will give birth. She is given no guarantees of being understood by others nor given no direction on how this would happen (unless you think she understood what being overshadowed by the Holy Spirit meant). Mary was also not given any instruction on what she needed to do. Even so, she responded “may it be done to me as according to your word” (Luke 1:38).
This Christmas, ponder the gift of hope and joy beyond the life to come. God sacrificed dearly for a close relationship with you. Will you believe, even when it defies logic? Will you grant Him the space to share His thoughts with you?
Embrace God’s invitation to intimacy and purpose. This season, let His extraordinary desire captivate your heart, leading you into a journey of faith, trust, and a profound relationship with the One who calls you His own.
