Am I Really Amazing?

    Am I Really Amazing?

Last week I surprised myself with this statement, “it would take a real idiot not to want to spend time with us.” I enjoyed writing it, but like some of you I questioned the validity of this statement. I set it up with fine logic, and the argument made sense, but is that really true?

    Am I Really Amazing?

I’ve made similar statements to others, but that was always to them individually. It was easy for me to believe because God had given me some insight into them and I loved them. I had no problem challenging them to see themselves as amazing.

Last week I made that as a blanket statement for each person. God made you, and He only makes amazing things. While this is definitely true, there are people I don’t like being with. I know that God still likes them, but do I also need too? Are they amazing as well?

    Is Everyone Really Amazing?

The truth is there are people who do bad things. These people are not only non-believers; there are some Christians who are also jerks. How can I say everyone is amazing when I want to avoid certain people?

Last week I added the qualification that the only thing negative about you is sin, which has been taken care of on the cross. While there is no condemnation for those of us in Christ Jesus, some of us are still holding onto sin. This doesn’t affect our salvation, and for most of us our desire is to abstain from sin, however, the sin in our lives still hurts others and is not enjoyable to be around. If my sin is just laziness or procrastination, those people who are needing me to follow through with projects are being effected by my sin and will not enjoy that part of me.

We All Sin, So Is Anyone Amazing?

We are all still trying to remove the old nature; the process of sanctification is on-going. Therefore is anyone really amazing? That may be our real question. We know our own failings and struggles or are affected those of others. Can all people still be amazing? I propose that even with our sin that hasn’t completely been done away with, we are all still amazing, and here’s why:

    1. God Made Everyone and He Doesn’t Make Junk

The desire of God is for all to come to repentance. He wants to be in relationship with every person on this earth. He knows what we have done and the negative things we carry, but He also knows what we are capable of because He put greatness in us.

    2. God Always Sees Us As We Should Be

God chooses to focus on this greatness He put in us. The Bible says God chooses to forget our sins. He will remove them as far as the east is from the west. We may still participate in sin (oftentimes unknowingly), but God calls us a saint. He is always moving us toward who He created us to be.

    3. We Are Ambassadors of Reconciliation

Our calling in this earth is to bring people back to God… and back to who God created them to be. We are not just trying to get people into the kingdom, we are trying to give God the most glory. We are not filling heaven with trash; we are restoring people to be the treasures they were created for. People living out of what God put in them will give God the most glory and us the most joy.

    4. We Can See Others As They Should Be

When the Bible commands us to be holy as He is holy, it is a call to be like God. We are to do things that He would do, say things He would say, and see people as He sees people. We can say people are amazing, because that is what God thinks of them. If we have trouble seeing someone as amazing, we can ask God to show us who they really are. They may not be living out of it, but God will give us compassion to see their potential and love them at that level.

    5. God Can Do the Same For You

We have to that everyone is amazing before we can truly see ourselves that way as well. Because if you believe that there is someone that’s not amazing, then you may see yourself falling into that small minority. You are no different than anyone else, you are also amazing. You may still be working through sin issues; we all are. There are of course differences in how you will represent how wonderful you are, but don’t confuse this one thing, you are amazing!

    Let’s Bring Heaven to Earth

Can you imagine a world where everyone was living out of who God made them to be? There would be no room for evil to exist. Satan would be out of work. Heaven would have come to earth. This may seem out of reach, but it is what we are called to try to achieve.

People are the most important things on God’s heart. If we are wanting to keep God important to us, we will need to see people (which includes ourselves) the way God see them. It is worthy of giving our entire lives toward this goal. Start with yourself. If you doubt it, work and pray and live in such a way to remind yourself that you are amazing.

I would love to hear your thoughts. If you agree to this post let me know below in the comments. If you have any questions or doubts, I would love to address them. You are important to me because I know you are amazing.

    1. Whatever you ask in my name, this I will do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son. If you ask me anything in my name, I will do it. Truly, I say to you, whoever says to this mountain, ‘Be taken up and thrown into the sea,’ and does not doubt in his heart, but believes that what he says will come to pass, it will be done for him. —Jesus

Thank you for your comment. I understand your what you are getting at however please use your comments to be about the post. You can search the site to find articles that relate more to your question. When the statement is not about the article or have any question, I assume people just trying to vent instead of starting a conversation.
